Best Feature (Otec )

OTEC (The Father) treats its topic knowledgeably, in exacting detail and radically subjective without ever slipping into the private realm. Lukas Hanulak has something to say and adds an exciting dimension to the universal theme of the father-son conflict. To do this, he places more faith in strong images and and a haunting atmosphere than in storytelling via dialog. His influences are recognizable, and yet the film stands on its own, full of the will to create, and impresses through the cooperative interaction of all departments involved, which he understood how to tie together as a director.
