For the 39th time, the Thalia Arthouse Cinema in Potsdam will open its doors to filmmakers from all over the world, national and international guests and an excited audience. From April 20 - 25, 2010, sehsüchte will present on three screens a unique film program, consisting of (among others) the International Program, Focus, Producer’s Prize, and Children’s Films. In addition, workshops, panel discussions, the Screenplay Lounge and much more invite further filmic and cultural dialog.

The highlighted region of the world this year in the sehsüchte Focus program is South Africa. Outside of the 2010 World Cup, sehsüchte is looking for authentic stories from the country on the Cape. Young filmmakers from South Africa will be offered in the context of sehsüchte Focus the one-time chance to present their view of their country and people, future and past, as well as present-day reality to an international audience.
