Best Music Video

We decided to award first prize to the video for Laokoongruppe’s „Walzerkönig“ by Adnan Popvic, because it impressed us with its minimalistic concept and thoroughly original realisation down to the smallest detail. The oldest film trick in history - stop-motion animation, is played with in an elegant fashion: five different image elements nestled in the universe of an office desk which are synchronized to music and interact with each other. Notepads function as windows into a small, private world and into the globe-spanning breadth of pop, which the unique musical aesthetic of the song addresses. Image and music connect in a successful example of modern nostalgia. Congratulations!
